Audition

Katie Kitamura. I enjoyed that we had to learn who this main character was through an extended process of inference. You vacillate between knowing everything she is thinking and knowing nothing about who she is. Slowly, as the interactions grow, the tension builds. The whole book felt cold, and it never really warmed up like all other books do.
